Aslan Saves

Behold! The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is coming to theatres on Dec. 9th! If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend you to do so before going to the movie. I believe this is another great film, besides The Passion of The Christ, that has the potential to inflame a spiritual awakening movement. As you read the following poem, meditate on Jesus, His blood, the Cross and what His sacrifice means to you personally. Give thanks for the new life He has given you by His grace. Rejoice in His victory over death and your daily victory in Him over the battles against the Enemy and your own flesh. Be blessed, my friend, as you surrender to Jesus, who loves you and died for you unconditionally.

Aslan Saves

What I do
Is no good
Unless Aslan's
On the move.

I am to blame
All my shame
He takes away
By His mane.

What price
What sacrifice
His very blood
Alone suffice.

A new song
Now I sing-
The winter's gone
The spring's begun!

To Be An Autumn Leaf

The following is a tercet on autumn leaves and, moreover, our hope, belonging, and purpose in the Lord Jesus Christ. The picture of a tree with its red leaves is in my mind for now, but I'll capture it with my camera soon-- before the TX winter arrives, that is. : ) God bless you this fall season!

To Be An Autumn Leaf

mike

(I ask.)

O leaves, slowly dancing in the autumn wind,
Why do you shed your green
garment and put on a red coat?

O leaves, softly whispering in the fall breeze,
Why do you cease to make your old
melody and begin to sing a new song?

O precious leaves, gently falling from your dwelling,
Why do you have to leave your cozy
home and take on an adventurous mission?

(A leaf speaks.)

O friend, what I wear is not from me.
My Creator made me this coat,
keeping me warm every winter.

O friend, what I sing is not about me.
My Master taught me this song,
reminding me I'm never alone.

O precious friend, where I go is not for me.
My Lord sent me on this mission,
giving me the purpose of my life.

(All leaves in chorus.)

This is our coat—
A new coat,
A season of hope!

This is our song—
A new song,
A time to belong!

This is our mission—
A new mission,
An age of transformation!

Mercy & Grace

This is a picture taken from Silver Lake Marina in June. The following is a tercet (three-line stanzas) on my reflections of the picture. For those of you who are going through trials and hardships, I want to encourage you that God's mercy is abundant, and His grace is sufficient! Take heart! There's nothing you cannot overcome in Jesus, for He has "overcome the world." (John 16: 33)

Mercy and Grace

mike

Sprinkle, sprinkle, drops of light fall.
Falling, the light of mercy blends
Into the coolness of the water.

Twinkle, twinkle, beads of water dance.
Dancing, the water of grace merges
Into the warmth of the light.

A kiss, an embrace,
Where light meets water,
Where mercy meets grace.

Abundant light, incessantly shines.
Sufficient water, unceasingly flows.
In a dark and parched land,

The light restores my sight,
The water quenches my thirst.
My spirit is renewed---

Where light meets water,
Where mercy meets grace---
By Your kiss, in Your embrace.
